Our Town to Be Presented at Cornell Little Theatre

An amateur premiere of Thornton Wilder s Pulitzer prize winner Our Town will be staged at Cornell Little Theatre on April 28 and 29. The production, previously successful on tour, relies on minimal set and lighting to convey universality in a small town 1904 to 1918, with Stage Manager guiding audiences. Crew heads include lights Margaret Roberts, costume Geraldine Bryant, publicity Drap Bishop, with off stage stage managers Jeanne Merrihew and John Duckwall.

Porter Water-Colors To Go On Exhibit

The Flick exhibition of Amana scenes in the Armstrong room closes Saturday for Elmer Porters water colors. Porter, former McKinley HS art instructor, later taught in Cleveland where he held a One Man Show. His Iowa Barns was featured in the All States Exhibit in New York. The room opens Thursday 10 to 12 and 2 to 5 each afternoon.

Spring Alumni Meetings Planned Across the Country

Young Cornell alums from the class of 1933 and later, living near Chicago, organized monthly gatherings after a Wabash YMCA meeting. March alumni events occurred in Portland Seattle Los Angeles and San Francisco with others in Lakeland and Des Moines. Cedar Rapids club set an April 17 meeting at the Roosevelt Hotel.

Husk Will Be Issued Wednesday A Campus Yearly Issue

The third Husk of the year will be distributed on Wednesday on campus. The issue features Don Law son’s short story Comes Grass Comes Ollie and other prose pieces by Lucinda Baker Anya Plummer and Roy Teele. Poems by Elizabeth Schoening Ruth Mason Glenda Hodge and others accompany essays including Winifred Van Etten on childhood and a piece on Archibald MacLeish.

Cornell women publish the first all woman edition titled As We Are edited by J L Smith and staff. Plan to Tour Chicago Religious Centers May Weekend

The Department of Religion will run a first weekend in May excursion to Chicago visiting the Bahai Temple Hull House a Jewish synagogue a Catholic cathedral and the University of Chicago chapel. Two Alumni Awarded Roberts Fellowship

Word was received yesterday that James Watson and Roy Teele both graduates of the college in 1938 were recipients of Lydia Roberts fellowships for study at Columbia University. Watson majored in history and political science and Teele majored in English.

Junior Prom Set for April 15
