Spokane's Big Deals and New Building Projects

Spokane, June 22. Two large real estate deals totaling about 500000 involve erecting a major department store building and another hardware house in the northwest. The department store will be built by Keup Hebert and partners on a north Maingueume site between Market and Oita streets, while the hardware structure is to be leased to Marshall- Wells Hardware Co. of Dallas, with a 110000 payment for timber and other costs. The department store project at the northwest corner of Materence and Washington streets is valued around 413000 and will be a four story concrete structure housing a modern department store.

Contested Entry in Casa d'Alene Land Case

Pioneer Passes Beyond Mrs Mary Baldwin at Death

Mrs Mary Baldwin, aged years, died after paralysis and illness lasting months. She lived much of her life in Idaho region, married early to an army captain, moved to California and Idaho, and settled along the river opposite the area now Enews as Weenees. Interment was in Laketown cemetery after an Episcopal service. she was esteemed as one of the oldest pioneers.
