The Idaho House defeated the DCAL option amid heated debate. Measures targeting saloon control and other bills were discussed, with one railroad proposal shelved and adjournment planned.
Two men Knapp and Rum assaulted Haydon after a dispute on a city street. Haydon was knocked down and beaten, left nearly unconscious in the road, then taken to the Sour d Alan Undertaking parlors. Knapp and Rum fled, Knapp allegedly pulled a weapon, while bystanders condemned their actions amid the tense scene.
