Vulcanizing Disaster Injures Pennington at Real Estate Site
Pennington suffered severe burns to his right hand when gasoline spilled from a can during tire vulcanizing at Pennington and Talbot real estate. Fire ignited the gasoline causing an explosion. Frank McClendon used his coat to smother the blaze and save the area. Pennington praises McClendon while noting skin grafts will be needed for several burned spots.
