The Chronicle News of Trinidad Colorado reports the death of Carl V Easley twenty six year old head of Easley Produce. A shrewd capable businessman he built a Colorado New Mexico produce firm five years ago with sales averaging forty to fifty thousand dollars monthly. His wife Mrs Easley partnered in the business and is daughter of Mrs Lo Bradley of Union Ridge near Clayton.

Weaver Sells Farm and Moves to Amarillo Texas
J W Weaver of near Thomas has sold his farm and all stock and implements and will move at once to Amarillo Texas to return to railroad work. His wife died in October leaving a baby girl who will be cared for by Mrs Ray Heffner sister of Mr Weaver. Morgan Harvey of Clayton Abstract Co bought the farm and stock and implements were sold to WE Hama.

The state canvassing board reports 40 792 ballots cast on November 5 with a drop from 67 000 in 1916 due to war service. Socialist candidate A H Moulton led with 847 votes. Bond issue for a capitol addition failed by a large majority. many northern counties joined southern in opposition.
