Nominated Candidates Named At Las Vegas Democratic Convention

The Las Vegas Democratic Convention selected Antonio Busty of San Miguel Rann as permanent chair, Mrs. G. L. Goliins of Nn County as chairwoman, Hyon 1 of Roswell as secretary, and B. Brown of Sierra County as liaison. The platform calls for primary elections to redraw districts and for increased legislative pay, with labor and fair wage provisions, and urges special sessions this spring.

Murray repeatedly named as GOP hopeful in New Mexico

Santa Fe observers report W D Murray of Silver City as a leading Republican candidate for governor next month if Governor Lujan suspects renomination. Murray, born 1870 in Wyoming, long active in business and politics, serves as president of Silver City National Bank and has held regional offices since 1900. He is involved in local lodges and Catholic groups and has a history of public service from county commissioner chair to state senator.

Compa Drill Purchases Leases in Union County

The Mid-Continent Producers and Refinery Corporation of Cleveland Ohio bought 10,000 acres of leases on four structures in Union County the Pasamonte Baca Megox and Bryantine for 100000. Charles Hayden of Jesse Ohio inspected the structure data with KB. Local capital recently acquired forty acres near the Livoyeros well for 81. Reports from the Buffalo well say they are active and not releasing depth details.

Democrats of Quay County Hold County Convention

The Democratic women and men of Quay County held a county convention at Theumenii on a Saturday to select delegates for the Democratic State Convention. Mrs Collins, of Clayton, was named State Vice-Chairman and Delores Wassel was elected vice chairperson of the pale. The gathering planned organizing efforts for the county women and pledged enthusiastic support for male colleagues in political action. A luncheon welcomed over fifty attendees.

Post 27 elects officers at annual meet

At the regular annual meet of Tuttle Post 27 of the American Legion in Adel officers were elected for the ensuing year. J P Mill was named Post Commander and Dr F Milligan Vice Commander. The officers were installed at a special meeting at the Court House, Aug 8, with a good turnout predicted and all members invited.

Serious injury at Rabbit Ears trip falls

Victor Tinsley visiting Geo and Miss Tempest Tinsley suffered serious injuries after a fall while helping on Rabbit Peak. They tumbled about 30 feet with Tempest sustaining a severe head wound and Victor in an unconscious state for hours. Friends hope for full recovery.
