Farmer-Stockman Bureau votes fee hike at meeting

A Union County Farmer-Stockman Bureau meeting in Courtiease discussed Bureau work in New Mexico and nationally. The key vote amended the constitution to raise annual dues from 1 to 3 dollars, with 2.30 allotted to general expenses and 0.70 to state and national federations. Members paying 3 dollars before January 1, 1921 will gain membership until January 1, 1925.

Resolution by Union County Commissioners on Federal Aid projects

At a regular meeting on Aug 3 1920 Union County New Mexico adopted a resolution approving transfer of funds for Federal Aid Road Construction Project 37 on Road 373 to Road 58 at Clayton and extending to the county line and approving Project 38 from Clayton to Textine Head 18 southward as far as funds permit.

Death of 15 year old Andy Hickman in wagon accident

Andy Hickman aged 15 died Sunday at 2 p.m. at St Francis Hospital after injuries from a wagon wreck when a team ran away. The body was taken to Pennington for burial. The News extends sympathy to the bereaved family.

Spencer M. E. Church Dedicated Sunday at Clayton Area

The Spencer M. E. Church seven miles east of Clayton was dedicated Sunday with a sermon by Rev. Alonzo Bright. Rev. Julian and Rev. Markim assisted, the latter as pastor. The building cost about two thousand dollars and a large crowd attended the service.
