Picnic Team To Aid Autoists At Big Springs
Colonel E O Jacobs of the Kansas Picnic Association announces a relief team will be stationed at the sharp steep bend by Big Springs for motorists attending the nineteenth picnic. From three in the afternoon until dark the team will assist those unable to pull the bill. The Big Springs site on the Seneca is a scenic county spot with a refreshment stand and abundant water. Clayton residents plan to attend as many city cars head to the Big Springs road next Saturday.

Union County Man James Collins Dies in Trinidad
James Collins a Union County resident for years collapsed and died last Sunday in front of the Drew Rooming House in Trinidad. Afflicted with asthma, he had recently traveled to Trinidad seeking relief. He homesteaded near Seneca and was well known and respected. He is survived by a widow and daughter.

Well Known Woman Succumbs To Lingering Illness
Susan Marie Miller wife of W A Buck Miller of Clayton died after a lingering illness at San Raphael Hospital in Trinidad on Wednesday. Born in Missouri in 1867 she moved with her family to Texas as a child and later settled in Union County. She married in 1889 at Canton Reynolds County and lived in Union County ever since. A Baptist church member since its inception she was active in church work. Survived by her husband four children Lloyd Alton Helen and Mrs William Kuhns and many friends. Funeral held at the family home Thursday afternoon at three o'clock conducted by Rev J Q Herrin with burial in the local cemetery.
