School Notes on Grades and Activities in Local District

The First to Third Grades show good attendance while the Fourth grade cleaned the Christian church playground. Fifth graders were visited by Miss Reka Weiland and Mrs. McArthur. Sixth and Seventh graders study Freckles and Panama Canal with no tardies. Eighth grade boys excel in Manual Training. HS chapel runs Tuesdays and Thursdays. Miss Maria Chamberlain directs music and plans a High School Glee Club. new typewriters arrived for the High School under Superintendent Chamberlain. The High School and Eighth Grade re organize their literary societies with Olymphcans and Delphine officers announced. HS Ball Team names manager and captain and purchases new bats and a breast protector. The community is invited to see the High School play Seneca next Friday. Arty Chas. Law returns from Santa Fe after judging Judge Pope’s funeral with about 100 NM bar members, with a detailed account to follow.

Shriners to Meet in Las Vegas Ceremonial Session

The Shriners of the city receive invitations to attend the ceremonial session at the Ballut Wad Temple in Las Vegas on October 9. The affair will close with a banquet at the Castenada.

Fields Farewell Party At Field Ranch Clapham

Mr and Mrs L W Kingdom and Mr and Mrs Chas A Law attended a farewell party at the Field ranch in Clapham. Miss Fern Sumner of Chicago has been visiting here for several weeks. A guessing contest and hand painted prize were part of the evening entertainment. Guests included Mr and Mrs John Garlock and others.

Basket Dinner at the Baptist Church Sunday Sept 21

An old fashioned basket dinner is announced for Sunday at the Baptist church. Everyone is invited to bring a basket and join. Sunday school children will present a program at 9:45 a.m. Dinner follows. An afternoon musical program by Clayton musicians precedes 7:30 p.m. gospel services led by Pastor J Q Herrin.
