Texline Youth Found Dead In Suspected Self-Destruct Case
Texline 20 year old Hal Branstetter, described as a crippled boy, was found dead on his bed at his sister Mrs. Bennett's home. A chloral form soaked handkerchief lay on his face with a glass nearby. Authorities say financial troubles may have prompted suicide. Branstetter left three letters to a girlfriend Miss Crayber, his mother, and a local man. He was buried at Texline.

Coroner Jury Rules Hypes Death From a Fist Blow
A Clayton coroner's inquest found N A Hypes died from a skull fracture after being struck by Dewey Johnson near midnight Friday. The case notes Hypes sought feed, visited the Johnson home, and was attacked. Johnson's bond was set at 3000 dollars. The first game of the series ended 17 to 11 with Trinidad side sweeping most aspects but hitting for both teams. Knaddler starred on the mound for Clayton in the decisive game, striking out 17 while allowing no walks and no hits.
