Fire destroys Pioneer garage in Clayton loss over twenty thousand
The Pi oneer garage and its equipment were destroyed by a blaze originating in the vulcanizing room just after noon Monday. Seven motorcycles and two residences owned by Mr and Mrs LA Wikoff and their son Allen were lost. The fire threatened adjacent homes until controlled after an hour, with losses estimated over $20,000 and insurance under $3,000. The Pioneer plans to resume business in a building east of Clayton Garage and Auto Co with R E Owen of Dallas overseeing mechanical work. Allen Wikoff is praised as an experienced motorcar man.
