The Clayton land office reports Union County led the state in filings for the year ending January 1 1911 with 1 078 filings covering 301 223 acres and 7 final proofs with total patents of 10 586 86. Horse Thieves Apprehended by Bush Sheriff Cromley
Sheriff Cromley reports four of the five wanted horse thieves captured near Clayton after a pursuit from Stratford Texas. The suspects allegedly obtained goods under false pretenses and stole a horse before heading to Boise City and Clayton. The county jail holds four of the five. one remains at large. Local officials warn there is no room in Clayton for criminals.

Auto thieves captured in Clayton after string of stolen cars
Des Moines sources note three Ford cars with four occupants entered Clayton and were stored at Clayton Garage. Sheriff Crumley arrested a suspect after a coil was found missing from a car, leading to discovery that all three vehicles were stolen. Diamonds reportedly hidden with the suspects were later recovered and shipped back to Denver with the prisoners.

Society Notes From Clayton Busy Week of Social Events
The Auction Bridge Club met with Mrs. Dudley Snyder and many dames attended including Mesdames Barnhart Fox Savage Messenger Wherrill Birhind Frank Barnhart Winchester Morris Herzstein Simon Herzstein Easterwood Inex Eklund and others. A large reception at the Methodist church honored Mrs An Gaines and Mrs Woodward presided over aid activities with guests reserved seating and afternoon refreshments. Clayton’s skating at Eklund’s dam drew crowds each evening as warm weather neared and locals feared sport would end. Ye Girls Five Hundred Club hosted by Hetreshoents with Miss Mansker high score and guest Miss Wooden of Chichasha. a shampoo jacket awarded and a luncheon followed. Hesshi Pigs hosted Be Pat Mae Rixey with forty two guests and elaborate treats. Evening Five Trist Club dinner featured Mr and Mrs F H Ghar and many local families. Mr Edwards entertained with fine music and dancers enjoyed the evening at Herzstein home.
