Federation Votes To Keep Its Name At Convention
Washington May 30 A motion to strike out women from the General Federation of Women’s Clubs name failed by a two thirds vote at today’s federation convention business session. Mil waukee director Miss L E Stearns argued deletion would boost male club affiliation. By laws were amended to expand the board from 11 to 47 with one director per state. Delegates from many states will elect directors before the convention adjourns. California and Ohio fed members pressed for the presidency under debate. Mrs Enamel Beneath of Ohio read on the Pan American Congress and Mrs Evins Cowles chaired the peace committee. A discourse on preparedness and peace followed.
