Turnbulls return from Minneapolis after the death of Mrs. Turner's father and relations hear of another death in Cedar Rapids.
Miss Lydia Buechler leaves for Pierre for two months as an ethnographer in the house of representatives. Henry Matuska departs for Sioux City to enlist in the aviation corps. Miss Hazel Abbott heads to Chicago after holidays. County officers take oath. several officials re elected or newly named. Chicago bans crime shown in moving pictures amid calls for national film controls.
