Man Dies In Hay Load Fall Near Wellsburg Farm
Herman Betz 38, who had come to town with his brother Fred to unload hay at Mike Berreth’s barn, fell while pitching hay and struck his head and shoulders. Doctors said the upper spinal column was severed. Funeral services were led by Rev. Haag. He resided near Wellsburg for years and had been working a claim there the past two years.
