The state assessment board works on railroad assessment with forecasts showing valuations including new lines up 38 to 45 percent from last year. Last year's total was about 15 million dollars.
H J Rice grand secretary of the South Dakota I O C F announces sealed proposals to locate the Odd Fellows home to be built next year. Bids accepted at his Huron home until January 9 1908. Conditions include faithfulness education church and Sunday school opportunities moral climate agriculture and railroad facilities. Judge K M Landis of Chicago imposed a 29240000 fine on Standard Oil for rebate arrangements with Chicago Alton railroad and ordered a similar action against the Alton for rebates.
