School board fills six grade posts and notes rural hires
The Board of Education elected six grade teachers including Miss Browne of Canton to fill vacancies. A second high school teacher will join the corps as one educator handles four upper grades with added superintendent duties. Rural teachers Miss Margaret Plattner and Miss Lottie Ardery, notable in Bon Homme county, were elected to Scotland schools and will graduate from normal college in June. Evening entertainments at the new Tyndall schoolhouse, linked with the Turner Art Exhibit, drew packed crowds. The Southeast South Dakota Teachers Association meets in Canton on April 25–26. attendance is encouraged.
