St Louis Pacific builds spur to connect oil tanks and ice plant
The St Louis Rocky Mountain & Pacific railway is constructing a spur just outside Raton city limits to serve the Continental Oil Company operations and a new ice and cold storage plant by Raton Crystal Ice and Cold Storage. Colorado Telephone will use ground on the spur for pole storage. The cold storage plant is said to have 150 feet of frontage on the track.

Young Boy Drowns at Sheepest Pond in Johnson Mesa
Two year old Charles Floyd, son of Mr and Mrs Thomas Floyd, slipped while wading in a pond near Johnson Mesa and drowned. Mrs Floyd was busy with housework and did not notice until after the boy disappeared. His body was found in the water, and Mr Floyd, who was visiting Raton, rushed home for the funeral service held at Johnson Mesa Mtcohost church. Santa Fe County forms a statehood league. other counties plan partisan clubs across the territory.

Birthday Wedding From the Baton Range
The marriage of John Joerns and Frances Folsom O'Brien occurred on Saturday October 16 at four o'clock at the residence of the bride's sister Mrs Jeremiah Leahy. Rev Father Cooney performed the ceremony on the twenty first birthday of the bride. A buffet luncheon followed and about fifty guests attended including out of town guests Mrs David Leahy and daughters Lucile of Las Vegas and Miss Evith Mooney of Minneapolis. Mrs Joerns is the youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs James O'Brien of Caledonia. Judge O'Brien is a former chief justice of New Mexico. Mr Joerns is deputy county clerk of Colfax County. The couple will establish a home in South Seventh Feet after November first.
