In Urbana on Tuesday February 1598 fine weather aided farm work. Several townsfolk visited including Sam Manatt and W H Nation. Dr Neely runs a fill mill and J A Hutchings of St Paul was in town last week. A heavy rain damaged roads. Moves include James T Likens settling in Village Creek and Minnie Olson headed to Chanute. Urbana now has four stores and O R B Noble contemplates leaving town for Burlington.
Leanna is noted, T L Ingels visited Humboldt on Monday. Mr. Roberts sold two loads of hogs. Rev T J Alford held a regular Austin appointment. Burghart relatives visited Rollin. John Jackson left for Nebraska for the year’s work. Mrs Lou Schooley of Thayer visiting relatives here. Ida Alford and family visited Henry Roderick and family. A spelling school Friday night was a local event in Lie year.
In Austin on Tuesday February 15 1908 Mrs M M Frazier of Erie visits son in law Bert Scribner. Balfiam leaves with family for Missouri while Winan sisters travel to Centerville. Ed Stevens recovers from illness Willard Russell and family visit Irwin home. A Valentine party at Mrs Medford’s hosts about thirty five guests enjoying the evening and pictures. Also a note on kidney disease praising Knox remedy Parkly Asm TTERS sold by J L Sewell in local ad.
Fine weather and illness news from Big Creek. Waldron is seriously sick. Thacker sows timothy. A daughter born to Mr and Mrs Jordan. Farmers plowing. Cottrel seeks work in Walnut. Townsend visits Mumboldt to study plumbing. Epworth League elected officers at Big Creek Chapel led by Frank Meynard and others. One Minute Dough Cure advertised for whooping cough and bronchial troubles.
Geor ge Balch is quite sick at present. Loni Hurst of Erie bought stock in the vicinity Monday. Mrs Baty's nephew from Illinois visits, considering locating nearby. Tom Knowles lost a valuable horse Monday from a wire cut causing lockjaw. R Myers plans a large haying business next summer, over 1000 acres. Willard Russel to move to the Bonham place near Austin for the season. Mr Duvall to farm the vacated area.
