Accident at Hunt Ends With Shot Wound Near Foot Hills
A hunting party 85 miles southwest from town reported George Needham was hit in the right leg and foot by a shotgun discharge held by Charlie Nelson. Dr. C M Jones treated the wound. Needham is expected to recover. Separately, Gualinda, a worker at Avalon dam, was found dead with a bullet wound, amid threats from a Mexican suspect Andreas Gomes and his partner after a break in theft. Pompa aided in relocating Gualinda and his belongings as he planned to flee to Texas.

Fine Winter Lambs on Bolles Farm Near Carlsbad
At Bolles farm six miles south of Carlsbad manager Bryant sowed green forage for winter feed. About 800 ewes lambed early, 150 lambs already born and 150 more due, with 17% lambs from 150 ewes and many twins. Lambs grow quickly, ewes good milkers, plans to fatten spring lambs for market and sell ewes as mutton later. Bryant previously won fat lamb prize at Chicago.
