Street Railways Fight Over Fair Ground Lines

A clash at Tenth and Arthur Streets saw Abe Waldrodt of Boise Valley Railway pulled spikes and detained by Boise Interurban police. Waldrodt released on recognizance. case likely to court. Debating League Formed By Idaho High Schools

Professor Edward M Hulme of the University of Idaho leads a history and debate program for Nampa Mountain Home Caldwell and Emmett high schools. Debates will determine the league champion with initial matchups in Nampa Mountain Home and Caldwell Emmett on December 13. The final championship is slated for late April with third and fourth place contests the same night. Caldwell has until October 9 to choose a side for the question on postal savings banks. The final debate questions must be set by January 1 with selections by January 9.

Borah Jury Hearings Open After Indictment Names

In a Tuesday morning session US District Attorney Norman M. Buick revealed that the John Doe in the Borah indictment was former Governor Frank Steunenberg, now deceased, while the true identity of Richard Roe remained unknown. The Borah jury was seated and evidence began as witnesses including U S land office Receiver Albert Garrett testified.

Caldwell Opera House Presents Josephine Deffry in Opening Week

Beginning Monday September 30 Caldwell hosts Josephine Deffry and her company for a week of new plays. Opening with the four act drama Shall We Forgive Her, the comedy is described as exceedingly funny. Hawkin’s company backs the renowned actress. reserved seats are selling fast as Caldwell’s theatrical season begins.

Roswell man in Caldwell this week and others depart

J. R. Baker of Roswell was in Caldwell the fore part of this week. Mr. Baker's family will be in Caldwell this winter. Mrs. W. C. McKenzie and children left for their home at New England North Dakota last week. They have been in the city for some time.
