Board Sets Tax Levy and Opens Middleton Slough Bridge Bids

Caldwell Idaho September 11 1905 The Board of County Commissioners fixes the 1905 tax levy at two dollars per one hundred with a special livestock fund levy and orders a bridge bid open. Bids for the Middleton Mill Slough Howe truss bridge are received with Reinhardt King winning at 822.95 and a sixty day completion timeline set.

Boise Pioneers 1905 Reunion Planned Across Idaho

The Historical Society of Idaho Pioneers will host a reunion on September 27 with a grand banquet. The event invites all residents who came to Idaho before 1875 and their descendants to send relics and photos for a pioneer exhibit during fair week. Contact No 81 for coal and membership details.

Bottling works and bank for Rexburg gain notice

The Rexburg Current Journal reports a big bottling plant to be established in Rexburg and a new bank with $25,000 capital opening. Reclamation progress reported for Deer Flat project

J H Lowell, president of the Payette Boise Water Users Association, says contracts for Deer Flat reservoir are advancing well and insists ultimate success is likely. About 70 percent of land is signed, with a goal of at least 86 percent by October 10 to present to engineers. If the land is not fully secured, action may be postponed.

Red Men of America to Take Possession of Caldwell

The Red Men will seize Caldwell this evening with Mayor Madden presenting city keys at 7 30. About 200 warriors attend as Shoshone Lodge 17 Caldwell Kuna Lodge Nampa and Umatilla Lodge Payette are installed. The How Lish Whampa degree team from Boise conducts ceremonies with 100 Boise Red Men accompanying. Luncheon follows and band music plays at Main street band stand. Adam’s ice cream soda is noted as the town’s best.
