Legend of Mount Diablo inspires eerie prophecy tale
The Idaho Scimitar reports a 1863 Atlantic Monthly legend of Monte del Diablo in Idaho County. A holy friar encounters a horned imp and visions a Castilian cavalcade turning to Saxon invaders, ending with a gold chamber and a hybrid prophecy.
