George A. Amderood, a Boise merchant, has purchased the Hunter stock in Caldwell. The large buyer, Anderson, plans to enlarge the merchandise, renovate store rooms, and move Hamm er stock to create a newer, up to date establishment. He visits Caldwell with advertising manager Wr Mawnilion to inspect progress and plan the formal opening after a optimistic view of Caldwell business conditions.
Payette evaporator under Denney & Company opened with a 25 worker crew Monday. Dan Ner of New York arrived and the system was tested. managers expect a busy season with abundant crop handling and space expansion planned to meet demand in Payette Valley.

A 3 year old girl died from severe burns at her home near New Plymouth on Friday afternoon. While her mother tended a younger child, the youngster climbed to a safe area near the sewing machine, struck a light and was badly burned from the knees up. The mother struggled to rescue her but also burned her hands. Funeral services were held Sunday at 1 o clock and interment followed at Park View cemetery.
The Pleaser Irrigation District board reduced taxes by lowering the tax rate per acre and will retire 416,000 of bonded indebtedness. They plan to spend 12,000 on improvements to water distribution while continuing to front funding for district needs.
The Boise U S Land Office announced that 70 acres in Canyon and Washington counties will be opened to entry on October 22 under the enlarged homestead act. The designated lands lie mainly in Canyon county with portions in Washington county and were previously open to entry. Farmers may claim up to 320 acres if additional land adjoins their existing holdings and titling is not yet perfected.
