A Washington dispatch reports Senator Borah visiting the White House and the senate irrigation committee plans to recommend to Congress a bond issue of 30 to 40 million dollars. Funds would come from revenues earned from public land sales to finance at least 32 approved projects. Irrigation money now funds the work but slow income would delay full completion without bonds. Death From Typhoid. R. W. Groves, 20, died Monday of typhoid fever after about three weeks illness. Funeral held at Cleveland boulevard home with Dr. F. B. Springer officiating. Dick Groves was a well known Caldwell resident. Family and friends express sympathy.

An explosion in the Independent Telephone Office Sunday night caused extensive damage and shattered 14 windows. A gasoline torch near a stove overheated, igniting vapors. the torch flew to the ceiling and left plaster marks while the device itself remained undamaged. Manager O. L. Hibner was notified and discovered ringing batteries were knocked off their shelf.
