Blaze Destroys Stockslager Home In 30 Minutes
At about 11 o'clock Friday night the Stockslager residence in Haily burned to the ground within half an hour despite efforts by the hose company and bystanders. Only the range and under $100 of goods were saved. The two story frame house plus addition was valued near $3,000 with about $1,000 in furniture and yard plantings lost. The fire likely started from a defective flue. Mrs Stockslager was alone at home while husband was away. The Wood River Times reports the incident and notes insurance.
