The Oregon Short Line field seeks bids to electrify its system amid Idaho regional energy push. Electric locomotives replacing steam promise reduced costs, higher hauling power, and easier freight handling across western routes.
The sale will realize more than 37433 dollars, with the first payment due now. The second, third and fourth payments are three equal installments due at 18 and 27 months. Major assets include Lane Lumber Company account valued at 500, Carnegie Trust Company of New York certificates at 4500, and a Nation Bank of Spokane suit at 9043. Land timber licenses issued by the Inter of land at Victoria, plus books of the bank and unknown assets valued at 300.
The Statesman reports that an apparent reappointment of Superintendent Humphries at the Industrial School in St Anthony drew criticism. Officials say the decision is not definite and under careful review after letters from Governor Haines and W.S. Bruce.

On May 4 water was turned into the A and B canals by Morrison and Knudsen and Crang Fall company, flooding the Gem irrigation system to water Crescent Valley south of the Snake River.
