About 65 American Legion Auxiliary members from Boise Nampa Homedale and Parma posts will be guests of the Caldwell Auxiliary at an 11 o clock luncheon this afternoon at the Elks lodge rooms. Forty guests come from Boise. A short program follows with reading by Mrs W T Kimbrough a piano solo by Miss Rosemary Beck and a vocal solo by Mrs Paul Case. Initiation and a discussion of Auxiliary affairs will follow the program.

The Caldwell Producers association held its first meeting since incorporation on a Tuesday night. A temporary board elected W W Rhodenbaugh president Roy Shelp vice president and Geo H Myers secretary treasurer. By law identical to Parma Producers association were adopted and a plan to pay one half cent per packed crate per mile on head lettuce delivered to the association was endorsed.

Cold weather injures fruit across southwestern Idaho
Weather observer Clinton Norquest reports Friday night frost damaged fruit in the Parma Caldwell and Weiser areas. Cherries peaches and apricots are frozen apples largely lost with 25 percent of prunes killed and potatoes nipped. Frosts hit peaches apricots sweet cherries and various apples with significant damage to sugar beets in Twin Falls county.

About three Caldwell Kiwanis members traveled to Payette for a large district gathering of southwestern Idaho clubs.
