Freight rate on coal cut to three fifty per ton
The Interstate Commerce Commission ruled the $4.00 per ton coal rate from Wyoming mines to Caldwell and 11 southern Idaho towns is excessive. It ordered Oregon Short Line to reduce rail coal rates to $3.50 per ton on carload shipments by August, citing higher rates to nearby Butte and Portland and overall unreasonableness.
