A reader letter from Pete Steunenberg and kin expresses strong opposition to John T. Morrison for Idaho governor. It recalls past pardons and political clashes, noting Steunenberg’s past opposition and urging Idaho voters to withhold future public support for Morrison.

The pastor D B Titus will preach at the Christian church. Sermon titled Gods Call for Saldiera will be followed by Partakers With Christ at the 180 service. All are welcome.
Mr Case has returned and will occupy the pulpit next Sunday morning with a sermon on Joy and Peace in Believing. A junior congregation sermonette titled Sponges vs Cauilles will also be presented. You will be welcome.
Tuesday evening at the Presbyterian church Miss Redway presented a solo program with Mr. Frederic Pieming Beale at the piano. Her voice was described as beautifu l and powerful, winning the audience from the first number. Program details could not be published due to lack of space.
A pleasant Wednesday evening at Lake Lowell drew about 20 couples to the regular dance. The crowd enjoyed the event and some retired on the 1 o'clock car after a delightful night on the big lake.
Yesterday morning Mr Mark Seely brought in a pair of dewberries of notable size and quality. They measured about a quarter inch to three inches in circumference and were described as full of contentment rather than warm cheer. The note ends with the hope that Mr Seely will visit again.
Carl Linden of Oklahoma arrived in the city early in the week on foot toward the coast. He traveled quietly to enjoy desert scenery and left Caldwell yesterday for Parma en route to Portland. He began his journey on January 10 and aims for Portland, Oregon, stopping briefly along the way.
Church members and congregation are invited to attend a picnic at Curtis Park next Wednesday August 1. An excellent menu is prepared and an afternoon of fun and jollity is assured for young and old under the auspices of The School of the Church.
Twenty four cartons of juicy lambs from the Little brothers and Alex Bell left yesterday for Chicago to please eastern eaters. The Emmett Index notes the first shipment from Montour and a larger test run Saturday with 13 carloads for St Joseph Missouri market led by Alex Cruickshank.
A.B. Kern, deputy shorticultural inspector for the Third district, reports the Emmett Index that the Payette Valley fruit acreage totals 26 368 acres. Apples 22896, prunes 1349, peaches 1521, pears 467, berries 135. Kern says pest eradication has been thorough and the crop this year will be a record breaker.
The Tribune urges a strong primary vote for William E. Borah, praising his dedication to Washington duties over returning to Idaho. It argues his stay safeguards homestead and reclamation issues, warns against amendments, and stresses Borah’s value for a stronger Idaho and national service.
At Pleasant Ridge week the Ladies asked three gubernatorial candidates Tweedy Clagstone Morrison for their stance on temperance. Tweedy cites New Perse county local option fight and enforcement of license and regulation laws in wet areas. Clagstone recalls record in local option and support for statewide prohibition. Morrison expresses sympathy with temperance aims and opposition to liquor traffic. Are you registered? Tuesday is the last day.
Addison T. Smith, a popular candidate for congress, spent a few hours in Caldwell on Sunday. He expressed satisfaction with early reception of his candidacy and claimed strong experience with Capitol Hill processes and committee chairs.
Tomorrow marks the first day to register for the upcoming Primary Election next Tuesday. Citizens are urged to exercise their franchise and vote for the best men for the party ticket.

Caldwell Young Peoples union holds a lawn party on Gordon's lawn Arlington Heights Tuesday at 8 30 pm inviting all youths to come wear church colors and bring a lemon. A union meeting for the city young peoples societies is set for Sunday at 6 45 pm at the Baptist church with the topic Missionary Progress in North America.
J W Owens in charge of Gil ls Construction Co. camps near the city narrowly escaped a serious accident Wednesday while returning from camp visits. A ditch crossing caused his horse to bolt, breaking a tree and injuring the rein. Canyon County Warrant Call. Will Monk County Treasurer notes warrants on the Current Expense fund up to no. 288 (June 1912) and Road fund up to no. 382 (July 1912) will not be presented after August 5 1912.

A Nam pa based group backing H. A. Partridge denounces a circular from rival candidate Mr. Pipher. The letter claims would ruin any candidate if true. The Tribune received it too late for full publication and offers no comment.
Roswell-Parma picnic drew thousands with a day of sports and festivities. A morning baseball between Caldwell youth and WW ended in a late 14th inning pennant win for Caldwell. evening dances featured Caldwell Orchestra. Visitors from Caldwell Notus Bolae Ontario Payette filled trains and autos. organizers praised hospitality, prosperity, and civic spirit.
F G Burroughs Townsend and Winchester went fishing near Boulder on Sunday. Townsend and Winchester caught three or four fish and a couple of wool rats while Burroughs reeled in a duckling. he kicked a rattlesnake into the creek, and the boys exclaimed it was a big hunt in Silver City Nugget.
