Idaho growers unite in cooperative marketing as organized business supports farmer profits. After years of trial the movement gains solid footing with business backing, aiming to lift agricultural income and reduce reliance on politics alone for relief.
A semi official statement argues radio can extend emergency services and spread farm information quickly. It notes state Farm Bureaus and Grange halls using radio to reach members, with cooperatives and grain elevators benefiting from in office receivers, linking extension work to farm methods for tens of rural workers previously unable to enroll.
Wisconsin lawmakers push for many federal law changes including soldiers' compensation labeling on coal, repeal of the secrecy clause in the Utp Rome tax law, a forestry policy, popular federal judges for up to ten year terms, January 1 convening after elections, repeal of Beck Cummins railroad act, re-enactment of 1918 taxes on large incomes, inheritance and excess profits taxes, deep waterways from Great Lakes to ocean, collective bargaining, war declarations only after referenda. Conservative leaders expect legislation to cut passenger and freight rates this winter.

George, Caldwell’s Tribune boy reporter, receives an invitation from Charles Bigger of Manston to visit his farm for fruit and peaches. A new modern lettuce packing plant is planned by Deer Flat farmers and the American Fruit Growers at Appleton to boost shipments and loading capacity, with Caldwell Traction adding side tracks to support the operation. Wren Shepperd, at his home recovering with severe cuts and facial and arm injuries, was involved in a motor vehicle crash three miles above Banks on Sunday afternoon. Returning to Caldwell with D. Hart in the Ford, they collided head on with a heavy Cadillac on a hairpin turn. Shepard was thrown through the windshield and injured. Hart was not seriously hurt. The Cadillac suffered heavier damage. The Ford is damaged beyond repair.
Federal prosecutors indict Helmuth Holler head of Oriental University on charges of selling degrees worldwide with low scholarship standards. Virginia charter revoked after exposure shows theology medicine and dental courses based on a private religion authored by Holler. District authorities seized circulars advertising courses with spirit drawings linked to divinity and other fields.
J Kupfer and a Sunday tourist party narrowly escaped serious harm during a wind and thunder storm in Idaho City. As they prepared to depart after a heavy rain, a warning shout halted the car while a large cottonwood toppled across the street directly in its path.
Pacific Co operative Poultry Producers members will tour the Canyon county grading and shipping plant next Saturday July 21. George Durant local manager says visitors will see the processing operation and a new hot oil bath machine for eggs plus a display of graded eggs and the grading process. Receipts at the local station average about 50 cases weekly with fall totals expected to hold. last Thursday night the pool closed showing 15 238 cases for the year while 1922 totals were 17 000.
