Water Users Vote to Keep Headquarters in Caldwell
At a Caldwell meeting of the Bote Water Users Association a two thirds majority was required to move headquarters from Caldwell to Nampa. About one third of members voted. 26.57 favored Caldwell. Nine directors were re elected. two were replaced. The group urged state lawmakers to fund soldier and sailor relief and to support Fair way employment. Attendance was strong with 70 to 80 stockholders present. The session ran from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The board unchanged except for two replacements.

Mr and Mrs James In Fenwick of Jordan Valley announce the death of their son Pvt Jaren Robert Fenwick of Company A 1st Flat Infantry, 1st Division in France. He was 27, born and raised in Jordan Valley, enlisted Oct 3, trained at Carn, served on overseas duty since July. He died Oct 6 after being severely wounded Sept 29. His brother J Adear Fenwick shared in the family sorrow.

Chas F Madden longtime California vigilante and Idaho mining pioneer died at his son Merritt Madden’s home in Boise City at age 88 after two years of ill health. A Moise Valley settler and early miner in California he helped maintain law and order with the Californian vigilantes before moving to Idaho with his family. He leaves two sons J Madden and Merritt Madden and five daughters C P Hinttley Emmett J J Walling Nampa and three Madden daughters in Montana.
