Narrow escape from high voltage at Caldwell Mill

George Glenn, a Beil celeyhone employee, barely avoided fatal electrocution while lowering wires from a 40 foot pole on Fifth Avenue near Caldwell Mill. A live line touched his tool, sending a heavy current through his body. He fell, was saved by a fellow worker who cut the circuit and lowered him to the ground. He suffered a severe shock but remains able to return to work in a day or two.

George Br. Smith of Middleton died yesterday morning at his daughter Mrs Maybee’s home in Middleton from dropsy. He was a pioneer, leaves new children including two sons and three daughters. Funeral will be held this afternoon under the direction of Jones Furniture and Undertaking Company.
