A revived Emmett district effort to divert Payette River water via a foot concrete dam at Black Canyon rekindled support. Poultry Show Delights Crowd With Acknowledged Winners
The Second Annual Poultry and Pet Stock Show held last week proved a qualified success despite a late season. Exhibits were fewer but of higher quality with many classes keenly contested and silver dollars replacing silver cups. Winners included White Wyandotte and Plymouth Rocks with numerous firsts, seconds, and thirds across breeds led by exhibitors such as C. G. Adama, Mrs. Monroe Dill, Tom McCannahey, and H. Villeneuve. Plans for an annual show were set, with a final prize day deciding a last week of January 1921 event. Anconss, Orphingtons, Black Minorcas, Cornish Indian Giants, Brown Leghorns, Buff Orpington ducks, Pigeons, Canaries, Rabbits, and Flemish Giants were among the many classes awarded prizes. The event also noted a social gathering featuring Miss Pearl Hall and the YW and M involved, highlighting a three-part program marking past, present, and future exam themes, attended by about 75 people.
