Caldwell townsite title quieted after long dispute
In a U S Court decision Judge Beatty dismisses the complaint filed by Iddius Larson and guardians for the Larson children over land granted to the Caldwell Land Co. The court finds the delay in asserting title unjust and notes the 80 acres valued at about $120 when sold in 1880 but now worth roughly a half million dollars.

Postal statistics show shifts in US post offices
Washington December 18. The Fourth Assistant Postmaster General reports for year ending June 30, 1905 there were 2164 new post offices and 5164 discontinued, with a net drop in establishment and extensions of rural free delivery. Idaho posts totaled 545 with 1,459,445 dollars gross receipts and 2.02 dollars per capita.

France plans Cherbourg submarine cruiser construction
The French navy retains active interest in submarines and will build a new large craft at Cherbourg titled a submarine cruiser. At 182 feet long and 15 feet beam, it will use electric motors underwater and gasoline engines on the surface. It features two electric motors driving two propellers and eight horizontal rudders, with double accumulator sets for current. Water-light compartments run along most of its length, and central fuel tanks sit on both sides.

His Third Getaway From Hailey To Nevada Line
Andrew Jensen, charged with wagon theft from a sheepman on Camas Prairie, has escaped three times. Sheriff Williams chased him from the Hailey jail to near the Nevada line south of Hagerman, catching him aboard a train near Gooding, where Jensen leapt from the car window as the train sped at least 30 miles per hour.
