Caldwell citizens and College of Idaho students joined a Thursday night rally to raise about 6000 dollars needed to reach the 50,000 promised by Dr. D. K. Pearsons and Andrew Carnegie. An estimated 500 filled the opera house, with a procession from the college, the band, and banners proclaiming vigor for the college and its programs.

The Knollin Sheep Commission Co reports this week’s sheep and lamb receipts totaling about 48 831 head with Monday and Tuesday trading showing 10 to 15 cent gains while today’s sale of roughly 20 000 sheep caused prices to fall 10 to 15 cents. Most stock comes from Colorado with wooled wool on offer though many shorn lambs sold poorly due to muddy feed lots. Outlook remains steady with light week receipts and a cautious but hopeful tone for the season.

Mr and Mrs J M Brunzell of Nampa learn their son Captain Albert Brunzell died at Cavite on April 23 in the Philippines. Raised in Owyhee county he studied at the College of Idaho and was en route to San Francisco before deployment. Word was sent to bring his body home for interment as tributes flow from Caldwell. Idaho official outlines farm board plans and campus changes
