Baptists Vote to Launch Five Year New World Drive

The Baptist Church voted to adopt the Five year program of the New World movement raising 175.83 dollars after a Sunday service. Campaign director Ferana leads captains Leavelt Smith Quast Angue Martin and Brack with teams of all members. Final instructions to captains occur Friday at the church before the drive begins Sunday at 8 o clock. The service will focus on inspiration and progress reports.

APRIL RECITAL AT CHURCH NEXT SUNDAY

A April recital will be held next Sunday afternoon at four o clock at the church. F Beale will be assisted by Mrs Beale soprano in a program of songs and arias. The event features solo numbers by Beale and selections including works by Chaminade and Lehman and others, with Mrs Beale contributing a number of pleasing songs.

Caldwell Citizen Answers Summons Funeral Rites Noted

Funeral services for Lou Burns will be held at the Presbyterian church Friday at 10 30 a m. The body will be brought from Idaho Falls. Christian Science and Masonic rites are planned. Burns once ran a Caldwell real estate business and lived in Arco Idaho. He was found dead at the Idanha hotel in Boise after a daylong disappearance. He left Boise for Caldwell recently and had told hotel staff he would be away briefly. He suffered a poisoning incident days before his death and had heart disease. He is survived by his wife at Arco and two sons Ollie in Corvallis Oregon and another son in Caldwell.

Greenleaf Academy Plans Spring Exercises and Commencement

Preparations for commencement week at Greenleaf Academy include a Baces urate sermon on Sunday April 25 at 12 am and commencement exercises the following Friday at 10 o'clock. A basket dinner is planned for 12:30 pm, with class day events closing the week Friday evening. Invitations are extended to all interested persons.

A marriage license was issued Wednesday to Everett Gibbons and Gladys Murch of Caldwell. Mr Mowry and his son plan to open a gas station on Ninth Street to fund the business. Fred Palmer as Jordan Vatey, president of the Western National Bank, won in Caldwell Thursday on business.

Canyon County Democrats Select Delegates for Lewiston Convention

Canyon Democrats at County Caucus chose J J Walling as temporary chair in the illness of the county chairman. A five member committee selected delegates including J B Newport and J M Cason to attend the Lewiston convention. Canyon County, with 21 representatives, anticipated strong participation though some delegates may be unable to attend. The gathering showed substantial interest, with no resolutions passed and contrasts drawn with other counties backing the Wilson cabinet line.

Poultry Excursion Planned Through Canyon County

Canyon county poultry enthusiasts will tour the county next Tuesday under plans announced by Mina Louise Riddle. Tours depart the farms bureau office at 9 oclock in the morning and visit Canyon Marble Proof Parma Roswell Wilder Pleasant Ridge and Greenleaf. Automobiles will be used and a noon lunch will be served at Rowell.
