Ball Park Plans by Old Commercial Club Association

The Commercial Club Association has sold two lots to fund a first class ball park. Ground on the B and I railroad near the flouring mill will be bought and work begins on a grand stand and bleachers. The club will erect the grandstand and rent the park to the baseball association. Work starts at once. The hearing in State of Idaho vs T H Dryden on assault charges was postponed until 10 o'clock today.

Marsh Ireton ranch sale claimed finest in Southern Idaho

H Dewey acquired the Marsh Ireton ranch eleven miles above Emmett, Idaho, a 820 acre property with 1000 miner's inches water right and over three feet of irrigation capacity. Purchase priced a bit over $50,000. Lee Cox hired as manager to farm about 500 acres this year.

Dr Henry Suzzallo to Teach at Idaho Summer School

The Albion Normal School hires Dr Henry Suzzallo of Columbian University for the Boise Summer School from July 13 to August 24. He will present two daily lectures on Principles of Teaching and on School Supervision. His Boise visit offers Idaho and neighboring teachers access to top professional training without travel costs to distant institutions.

Corbett Candidate for Republican Nomination for Sheriff

Mr ER K Corbett announces his candidacy for the Republican nomination for sheriff in Caldwell and Canyon counties subject to the primary. A Caldwell Canyon county resident for eighteen or twenty years he is described as a staunch Republican with a reputation for honesty. The Tribune commends him to Republican voters in the county. Caldwell Idaho City Council Advances Water Works and Sewer Plans

Caldwell Idaho council meets April 18 1910 to reject bids on water works extension and sewer improvements and directs finance committee and city attorney to advertise and set sale date for city bonds. It authorizes bond preparation for 10012 dollars plus accrued interest and maps various committee actions on sewerage districts and right of way contracts. The body approves curb and sidewalk bids for May 2 1910 and adjourns to April 25 1910.

Payette Jail Fire Claims Unidentified Man

A man who gave the name Wim Jackson died in a jail fire at Payette early Wednesday morning. He had sought shelter from a late night prowling, stayed with Night Marshal Feldcher, and was not jailed. The fire started around 4 am. authorities ruled the blaze originated by the victim. The coroner will have county funds cover burial costs.

Bridge contract set for Salmon river spur line

Chas J Perkins of West End Irrigation says a Chicago source confirms Pittsburg Steel Bridge and Concrete Company will build a 40000 dollar railway bridge across Salmon river canyon west of Buhl. Construction to start in August, enabling Oregon Short Line south side branch from Buhl to Caldwell. Financing for the Bruneau irrigation project, 600000 acres in Owyhee county, is reported secured.

Death follows Parma incident with released felon

Thomas Dayton, released from Canyon County jail on the condition to leave the state, returned to Parma and threatened N. F. Kibble. He resisted arrest, was struck by a passenger train while escaping, and died Monday at a Boise hospital. Dayton had been jailed on arson threats, posted bond, and was later released to depart the state. Also, Idaho Water Lifter Co. buys the old Commercial Club lots on Sescasts avenue to build a brick factory, creating year round jobs.

The post office department urges patrons on rural delivery routes to paint their boxes and posts pure white. The measure would protect against weather damage and create a uniform, neater national appearance for United States mail boxes, helping fix their identity nationwide.
