Base Ballists Organize Southern Idaho League in Caldwell

The Southern Idaho Base Ball League was formed in Caldwell with teams from Caldwell Nampa Emmett Boise Payette and Weiser. Elected leaders include R V Sebree as president and W R Sebree as secretary. First games set for April 29 Weiser vs Caldwell and Caldwell vs Nampa.

Electric Road Financed From Caldwell To Boise

W E Pierce returned from the east with funds to finance the Caldwell Boise electric railway. The $700000 project will extend from Caldwell to Boise through parts of the Payette Boise reclamation area. Surveyors are on site in Caldwell as the street franchise auctions expire April 15.

Railroad to Caldwell Reopens Idaho Route Plans

Interest in the San Francisco Idaho and Montana railroad resurfaced Tuesday as a route plat was filed at the US Land Office. Chief Engineer J S Burbank’s map places the line crossing Snake River near Caldwell and running west to Sucker Creek canyon then southward toward a target near Caldwell. With substantial financing, construction is expected to proceed rapidly, benefiting Caldwell and the surrounding section. Nampa hosted a musical evening featuring Mrs F H Brandt and Miss Egleston, both noted musicians. Brandt impressed with O Don Fatale and a wide vocal range, while Egleston’s piano earned strong applause and placed her among top local musicians.
