In New Rockford North Dakota on September 13 two men entered the home of Jos Grad 64 miles north of Beiz they seized and tied the farmer and his wife robbed them and cooked a meal under their eyes before fleeing. The horses were found later near Wellsburgh a few miles east of Leis. The intrusion occurred about 4 PM.

Thirty Horses Die In Blaze At Cass County Barn
Fargo North Dakota September 13 Fire suspected arson destroyed the large barns on the David Moog farm seven miles northwest of Page Cass county burning about 3 am. Thirty horses perished along with harness grain hay and other paraphernalia. Authorities link the blaze to incendiary intent and will bring the matter to the state marshal for action.

Farmers quickly hired several scores of the husky soldiers ending the labor shortage. The I W W branded the government action as unfair and decamped after the meeting.
Explosion blamed on I W W at Kraemer separator
An explosion on the Louis Anderson farm seven miles south of New England North Carolina is blamed on the Industrial Workers of the World. The front part of the W F Kraemer separator was blown out and fire destroyed grain and nearby outlet and stack. Grain loss is estimated at 600 dollars and the separator at 1000 dollars.

Minot North Dakota September 13 The shooting and hunting of wild game on Sunday is not a private right or a violation of state game laws, according to an interpretation by E R Sinkler attorney of Minot city. He furnished Dr J R Pence head of the game protection and propagating department of the North Dakota Sportsmen association with the view. Sinkler asserts that in his opinion there is no law on North Dakota statute books making it a criminal offense to hunt or shoot wild game on the first day of the week.

Man killed by freight train near Lucca North Dakota
The body of James Degnan, longtime Baxter office worker, was found east of Lucca after the freight train he rode Tuesday morning derailed or was struck. The switch crew reported the discovery, noting the left leg severed and head injuries. Degnan had boarded the train at the origin and was not aboard at Valley City. The investigation followed.
