W B Vadnais former Divide county judge requests Supreme Court relief from the state penitentiary claiming the Divide county attorney broke a plea deal. He pleaded guilty January 18 1921 to falsifying public records and received a five year suspended sentence with a 1500 payment due in six months. He alleges parole was revoked without cause after later serving as bank cashier. Hearing set November 22.

Clingman Sentenced for Burglary at Minot

Lyle Clingman a 25 year old resident of across the lake pleaded guilty before Judge Lowe in Minot after being arrested last Thursday for breaking into a building. He received 30 days in jail plus costs totaling 35 dollars and faced an extra 15 day sentence if costs were unpaid. He paid the costs and the case noted he had consumed alcohol at Northgate prior to the incident and forced entry by removing a pen from a window at the central office.

Emerson Farm House Burns in North Star Township

A large modern residence on the Emerson farm owned by C A Masters in North Star township burned Wednesday morning around ten. The fire destroyed the house and contents valued about $7,000 with little chance of saving the building. Helmer Swenson alerted nearby residents after seeing smoke, and nearby outbuildings escaped unharmed due to wind direction.
