Liberty Bond Allotment Finished on First Drive Day

Burke county led early in state Liberty Bond allotment with 92 560 dollars raised against a 76 000 goal. County Chairman Farmer tracked districts, completing the drive shortly after noon though some areas continued an hour or two longer. Wide local effort, newspaper ads and posters supported a county wide push with many bonds sold at 50 dollars each.

Grand Forks Child Lost In Field Found After Hunt

Grand Forks North Dakota October 3 Hubert Lee three years old wandered from home Saturday afternoon and was found at eleven o clock that night after nearly two hundred people searched. The boy slept by a corn shock and was exposed to cold rain for hours. He still had his toy cart at his side. Mrs A D Lee is his mother and the child is ill from the experience but recovering.
