Stanley North Dakota November 28 Andrew Hole a resident south west of the city died by hanging at his barn last Tuesday evening. Found Wednesday morning the cause is linked to melancholia. He had been in town Tuesday afternoon and visited the Sun office seeking to advertise a mute he had taken up. Dr. M. G. Flath attended but could not save him. Horse Thief Escapes Sheriff Outpost Jail Break
Jon Jourgens alias Joe Gardner, wanted in Westhope for horse stealing, was arrested near Donnybrook by Constable Pat King. He escaped from Tolley jail during a transfer and fled. deputy sheriff from Bottineau aided pursuit.

Unsuccessful murder attempt near Fairview Montana
At 7 30 PM on Saturday Tom Allen fired a shotgun at Brownie Emery at the Lockhart home near Fairview five miles northeast of the city. Emery was wounded in the left arm and upper body, taken to Sidney hospital. Allen, arrested and jailed at Williston, faces trial for attempted murder. The incident follows repeated drunken behavior and prior gunfire by Allen. The community remained tense as authorities prepared for prosecution.
