Draft cancellations flood Bowbells amid influenza crackdown

Lignite Celebrates Armistice in Bowbells

William Bell, a popular Lignite blacksmith, reports a loud celebration in Lignite last Monday evening after news that armistice terms were signed. The Bowbells crowd and a local band contributed strong noise as townspeople marked the Kaiser’s surrender with fervor. Bell, though slightly lame, joined in with enthusiasm.

Classification of Men 19 Stopped Draft Action

Col Glaspey Praised Auctioneer Reach West and South

Col R F Glaspey, famed beer auctioneer in this region, visited Bowbells this Tuesday. He told The Tribune that his fall sales were highly successful and outpaced previous years when money was stricter. He noted many sales booked between now and spring 284, expecting continued activity and strong demand.
