Fatal Accident at Apple Creek Railroad Crossing
A car carrying Mr and Mrs Fred Lefferman of Lehr was struck by Northern Pacific Train No 7 at the Apple Creek crossing about seven miles east of Bismarck North Dakota. The collision occurred at 2 40 pm as the train headed toward Bismarck at around forty miles per hour. The impact killed both occupants instantly and the engineer reportedly applied brakes in time but could not avert the crash.

Couple Die In Train Crossing Crash Near Lehr
Unfortunate couple riding toward the city were killed when their auto wrecked after being backed up to a crossing and rolled about 200 feet from the railroad. Mrs Lefferman died at the scene. Mr Lefferman survived briefly, then died en route to Bismarck. Victims were prominent Lehr area residents. an inquest by Acting Coroner Anthon Beer will determine responsibility.
