W J Agard of Portal died instantly when a car driven by Murphy struck a rut near J P Erickson farm. The vehicle turtle d as Agard, riding in back, broke his neck. Chapin and Murphy escaped with minor injuries. Agard left a wife and two children. He was a night watchman for Soo and C P R at Portal.

Arm shattered by gun discharge near Wilbur
