Northsier Cross Country Relay thrills fans on highway course
The second annual relay race from Flaxton to Bowbella drew three schools Bowbells Flaxton and Kenmare. Bowbells led early then Flax ton took the lead and won with Ray Edwards clocking 5 15 for the best time. Skirmishes and training errors were noted among Kenmare runners as Bowbells and Flaxton teams earned prize money. Mayors Strand and Bowbells exchanged goodwill in a letter dated April 28 1922.

District 10 of the United States Veterans Bureau announces a May 1 campaign to reinstate and convert government Insurance policies for ex service men and women. Many believe lapse means loss of benefit, but insurance can be reinstated any time up to March 3 1926 except for those totally disabled or disabled due to non service reasons. The drive, spanning Minnesota North and South Dakota and Montana, stresses advantages of timely reinstatement.

Croker of Tammany Fame Dies in Ireland
Richard Croker, former head of Tammany Hall, died late Saturday at Glencairn castle near Dublin with his wife by his bedside. Born in 1841 near Cork, he spent the last decade in Ireland owning property and led the powerful New York Democratic machine for nine years before public condemnation of its methods. His father emigrated to America when he was a child.

Million in road material to be distributed to counties
More than a million dollars of trucks and other war equipment will be distributed among North Dakota counties under the surplus war equipment division of the state highway commission. Each county gets one truck for every 20 miles of improved highway, with a $396 handling charge and title passing to the county when a truck becomes unserviceable. If a county does not take its quota, trucks are reassigned. Immediate applications urged by J. Hansen. The commission has about 4 trucks left for allotment, 47 already sent.
