Williston Backs Wheat Guaranty Plan in Congress
Williston North Dakota March 20. The Williston Commercial Club board unanimously endorsed efforts in Congress to revive the government grain corporation. Secretary T Weathal was told to send copies of the resolution to North Dakota's congressmen and senators. A House bill by Congressman Sinclair proposes a guaranteed wheat price modeled on wartime policy with a board setting the price at season start plus a margin. A Senate version by Senator Ladd mirrors the plan. The price would be based on detatistion cost plus production margins. The club may be the first commercial group nationwide to endorse the plan with minimal opposition from directors.

Bowbells Team Wins Burke County Title in Nineteenth Annual Meet
Bowbells second team captured the Burke county basketball title at Columbus Saturday by defeating Lignite 31 to 16 in the final. Flaxton, Columbus, Bowbells, and Lignite competed. Flaxton fell to the county seat in the morning 23 to 17. Masters brothers of Bowbells starred, scoring 14 of 17 in the second half, while Lignite’s Frank Lignitea displayed notable play. Bowbells guards played strong defense, limiting opponents to one field basket. Winners anticipate a regional intercounty game with Divide county champs.
