Prominent Farmer Killed by Horse Near Sherwood
Sherwood North Dakota June 15 F T McKee a well known local farmer was killed by a horse at his farm three miles north of Sherwood Saturday morning. The horse struck him hard in the chest as he and his men prepared for the day’s work. He died within ten minutes. The body was embalmed by H J Brackelsberg and shipped to Cambridge Indiana, where he formerly lived and was a member of the Odd Fellows lodge.

John Henry of Bismarck Dies at 100 in Penitentiary
John Henry, a Black man once enslaved in the South who befriended Abraham Lincoln, died at the state penitentiary at age about 100. After a peaceful earlier life in Grand Forks and bank savings, he murdered his wife, using funds for attorney fees, leaving a troubled postwar arc.
Old Southern slave and Lincoln friend dies in North Dakota

Olivia Mathilda Northen Hughes, 28, died Thursday morning after childbirth at her sister’s home in Burke County. Born May 21, 1885 in Minneapolis, she lived in Burke County since 1902, married Ed Hughes in 1906, and later resided in Swift Current before returning. Survived by husband, daughter, father P M Northenscold, three brothers Fabian Emil Herbert, two sisters Mrs Lipke and Mrs Heath. Funeral Sunday at Presbyterian church. burial at Bow Bells Cemetery. Hundreds attended. coffin covered with flowers.

Earl Alden and sister Miss Maggie Alden were in Bowbells Friday. Mr and Mrs Court Remington attended the Bowbells high school graduating exercises Tuesday evening. Their daughter Mildred was among the graduates. Paul Pommier and Miss Lillian Fleming visited Friday with Paul's parents south of Coteau. John Pommier from north of Coteau spent days with his brothers in Foothills. Several named locals attended a dance northwest of Lienite Saturday evening. Proceeds from the dance and supper will go toward the event.

Tragic Drowning Of Three Year Old At Prairie Chapel
A three year old child of Mr and Mrs Chrig Steinvendt south of flown on June 15 wandered to a slough and drowned. The body was found in two feet of water by the mother who milked cows and searched the premises. Funeral services were held Friday by Rev Gotlborg of Larson and interment was in Prairie Chapel Cemetery. The Steinvendts, newcomers two years ago, mourn a second child harmed by a past accident.

Rolla North Dakota June 15 Miss Mille M Stata visited her brother Cheater Stata in Brandon after a terrible accident. Conductor on a freight train he fell from a moving car losing his right hand and right foot. He crawled to Wapella then to the yard and was rushed to Brasdon Hospital for amputation and treatment. He remains critical due to blood loss and shock.
