In North Dakota on July 20 William Hatenbraek, missing since January 29 after reportedly falling into the river through an air hole, was found on a sand bar four acres below the point of last sighting. Neighbors later saw his boat and gear, a search recovered his cap and mittens, and officials ruled accidental death with no inquest.
Minot North Dakota July 20 The village justice of Des Lacs says warrant blanks are needed for town welfare and police administration. A rare call for warrants unsettled residents as Village Marshall and deputies attempted to arrest a violator. warrants ordered.
Ward County commissioners appoint Fred V. Dale and C. L. Stevenson to collect the discrepancy. The move aims to clear up outstanding liens in Ward County. The notice indicates appointed collectors and the ongoing effort to settle seed liens and related accounts.

The decision followed appeals by Reichert’s relatives over contests to the probate.

Harmonious community life noted as Mra MoM Sandberg Mrs A A Anderson visited Mrs Fred Burau Thursday. A G Berg and Larson called in Columbus. Spinial school met with Rev Buckneberg discussing matters including raising the school treasurer salary to fifty five dollars yearly.
A large tomcat attacked 5-year-old son of Carl Blom nine miles northeast of Battleview on Tuesday July 11. The cat, a stray in the neighborhood, bit and scratched the boy for a time until Mr. Blom stepped on its neck to free the child. Wounds were treated at home but worsened next day. the boy received serum at Wilhose from Dr. Wicklund and recovered the fever by next morning. Blom fired at the animal twice but is unsure if he killed it.
Minot North Dakota July 20 hearings before Federal Judge Amidon on a suit by Colonel M A Hildreth United States district attorney to recover twelve thousand dollars in income taxes from the Minot Automobile Company for 1920 and 1921. The prosecutor has two hundred customs cases pending against railroads and express companies he expects to dispose of by August first.
In Bottineau county a farmer and wife with child hid in a cellar as a tornado lifted their house and set it down meters away. The couple escaped with the child uninjured. Experts warn underinflated tires cause more damage than proper inflation and urge regular tire checks and replacement when needed.
In Beach North Dakota, a district court jury in Golden Valley grants damages totaling $16,000 to Mrs. Thomas Everetts widow of one of three men killed when a cloudburst swept railroad cars from Northern Pacific tracks near Medora on June 17 1921. Mrs Everetts receives $3 001 for her oldest child $4 000 for the second child and $5 000 for the husband’s death while Mrs A D McNear wife of the foreman killed gets $1 000. A third suit by a man alleging injuries from the crash seeks $35 000. Mrs Peter Stillman widow of the third man killed had previous settlement with the railroad.
North Bankers association secretary W C Mofad den calls for night watchmen in towns with little protection after the Lami a National Bank of Michigan robbery and murder. He urges business men to share costs and residents to fire guns and light up when hearing suspicious blasts to deter criminals. Authorities warn of a man calling himself Dave Morris issuing bogus checks and seeking bank vault information.
Arne Johnson and John Johnson were acquitted of manufacturing intoxicating liquor by a Minot district court jury. A boiler with a small hole in its top, found at their home, was explained as used to cook hog feed rather than for a still.
